David Dvorak’s return to the Janesville Parker High School boys swim lineup paid big dividends on Saturday.

Dvorak, who sat out a month with a hip injury, won the 200 freestyle and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay team to lead the Vikings to the Manitowoc Invitational title. Parker won the seven-team invite with 483 points, and Stevens Point was second with 432.

Winning the Manitowoc title was a preseason goal for the Vikings.

“Craig won it last year, and we finished second. Craig was not here this year,” said Parker coach Eric Rhodes, whose teams had never won an invitational title during his tenure. “I just figured we had a shot.’’
