Edgerton High had little trouble running its season record to 10-0 with 63-37 victory over visiting Brodhead in Rock Valley boys basketball Tuesday night.


The Crimson Tide, No. 2 in the AP Division 2 state ratings, also improved to 5-0 in the conference to remain in a first-place tie with Orfordville Parkview.


Edgerton hosts Parkview in the Crimson Tide’s next game, which will be a Monday makeup of a Dec. 11 postponement. The Crimson Tide will be idle Friday because it scheduled Rock Valley game against Palmyra-Eagle will be Feb. 2 at the Bradley Center.


The Tide broke out to a 21-9 first-quarter lead over visiting Brodhead (4-6, 1-5). Edgerton’s Bryan Gregory scored 12 of his 17 points during that stretch.


Derek Carrier scored 11 of his 19 points in the third quarter, helping Edgerton extend a 37-18 halftime lead to 57-29.


Travis Towns added 12 points for Edgerton, and Ryan Miller led Brodhead with 12.

Parkview 61, Palmyra-Eagle 29—Parkview (8-1, 5-0) finished off the Panthers (1-9, 0-6) in a 20-6 second quarter at Orfordville to keep pace with Edgerton atop the Rock Valley.


The Vikings collected three of their four three-point goals in the big second quarter for a 33-13 halftime lead.


Alex Mumm, the only double-figure scorer, led Parkview with 19 points. Eight players contributed to the Vikings’ total.


Parkview has a chance to grab a half-game lead in the Rock Valley when it plays Friday night at Clinton, while Edgerton is idle. The Vikings face the Crimson Tide in a makeup game next Monday at Edgerton.

Evansville 64, Turner 53—The visiting Blue Devils (6-4, 4-2) recovered from a slow start to overtake Beloit Turner (2-7, 2-4) for their fourth straight Rock Valley victory.


Kyle Treptow scored 10 points in the first quarter to help Turner grab a 19-11 lead.


The Blue Devils turned up the intensity on defense and the offensive glass in the second quarrter. That led to numerous second-chance points and an 18-7 advantage that gave Evansville a 29-26 halftime lead.


Evansville continued its surge in an 18-11 third quarter to put the game out of reach.


Tommy Kremer led the Blue Devils with 19 points, followed by Eric Nieman, 14; Matt McElroy, 14; and Andrew Keister, 10.


Treptow finished 19 points to pace Turner, and Jaron Bertelsen added 14.

Nathan Nagel scored eight points in the first quarter to help Big Foot build at 17-7 lead. He finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists.


Keifer Cary led the Clinton with 15 points.
