Man flashes handgun to rob store

— A man, carrying a black semi-automatic handgun, ordered the female clerk at the Stop-N-Go Store on East Racine Street to give him money from the cash register at 12:45 a.m. today, according to Janesville police.

After she did, he fled on foot, with an undisclosed amount of money.

Janesville police said the suspect was described as black, 6 feet tall with a slender build. He wore white shoes, dark blue jeans, a dark jacket, a gray-hooded sweatshirt over his head and something covering his face.

Officers arrived on scene and searched the area for the suspect. Assisting them was K9 officer Hardy and his handler, officer Shaun Mahaffey.
