Beloit casino avoids rejection

WCLO's Steve Benton reports vigilance in Washington D.C. keeps a Beloit casino application alive

The Beloit casino application would have been one of over 20 relegated to the trash can late last week if weren't for a lawsuit pending in Washington D.C. district court. So says Joe Hunt, representative for the St. Croix and Bad River bands of Chippewa.

Hunt says they have an attorney in Washington who keeps an eye on the application process and alerted them to the pending action. That's why the St. Croix tribe filed suit in early December. The suit is scheduled to be heard January 15th.
