— The Janesville Bluebirds continued their winning ways Saturday night.

Janesville’s high school co-op hockey team blanked Beloit Memorial, 4-0, in a Big Eight game at Edwards Ice Arena.

Tommy Tralmer scored two goals, and Ross Mauermann added a goal and two assists, as the fourth-ranked Bluebirds improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the Big Eight.

“Anytime you can get a win on the road in somebody else’s house, that’s good,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said.

Tralmer got the Bluebirds on the board with a goal at 2:52 of the first on assists from Derek Mussey and Mauermann.

With Janesville on the power play, Tralmer made it 2-0 at 8:36 of the first on assists from Mussey and Zach Bayreuther.

“Anytime we play Beloit, you know it’s going to be physical and there will be penalties called,” coach Mauermann said. “We were able to take advantage a couple times tonight, and we also killed off a 5-on-3 against us in the second period that kept Beloit off the board.”

After a scoreless second period, Bayreuther and Mauermann notched goals in the third for the final margin.

Janesville Parker junior David Jacobson finished with 17 saves.
