Just when it looked like Fort Atkinson High School was in control Thursday night against Delavan-Darien, the Blackhawks lost their aim.


The visiting Comets rebounded for 17-4 advantage to pull away for a 41-30 victory in Southern Lakes boys basketball victory.


Delavan-Darien (6-4) improved to 3-1 in the conference and stayed a game behind first-place East Troy (4-0).


The Blackhawks (4-4, 2-2) scored the first eight points of the second half to take an 18-14 lead, and they led by five points later in the quarter.


Aaron Logterman controlled the action underneath for Delavan-Darien to score 13 points. Junior guard Jacob Enslin led Fort Atkinson with eight.

Whitewater 47, Jefferson 46—Mark Zweifel scored only one point, but his free throw gave Whitewater (4-5, 1-4) a Southern Lakes win over visiting Jefferson (2-7, 0-4).


Zweifel’s free throw with 18 seconds left broke the 46-46 tie. Dante Vogel had tied the game for Jefferson with a three-pointer on one possession and a free throw on the next.


Miles Hookstead added to his fine season with 19 points to lead Whitewater. Kyle Lencho contributed 11.


Trevor Probst had 15 points for Jefferson, while Josh Alvardo added 14.
