Edgerton High and Evansville split their season series and doing the same with the Rock Valley boys basketball championship.


The Crimson Tide (18-2), No. 10 in the AP Division 2 state ratings, clinched its share of the title with a 65-35 victory Thursday night over visiting Palmyra-Eagle.


The championship is Edgerton’s first since 2004, while Evansville earned its third straight title with a 51-31 win at Walworth Big Foot. Edgerton and the Blue Devils finished with 12-2 conference records.


Edgerton broke away from an 11-9 lead over Palmyra-Eagle (2-18, 0-14) with a 22-6 burst in the second quarter for a 33-15 halftime advantage.


Rock Valley scoring champion Bryan Gregory paced Edgerton with 20 points, while teammate Derek Carrier added a season-high 19.


Jared Domres paced the Panthers with 15 points.

Evansville 51, Big Foot 31—Andrew Keister led the way with his league season high of 23 points, including five three-point goals, as Evansville closed the Rock Valley season with its 12th straight conference win.


The Blue Devils (15-4) boosted their conference record to 12-2 and earned a tie for their third straight championship, which they share with Edgerton.


Keister scored 21 of his points in leading Evansville to a 36-11 halftime command over Big Foot (6-14, 5-9). He had 13 in a 15-6 first quarter and eight more in the second period.


Matt McElroy backed up Keister with 10 points, while Nate Nagel led Big Foot with nine.

Turner 57, Brodhead 56—Jaron Bertelsen’s seven-foot, fade-away jumper with 15 seconds left gave Beloit Turner one of only two leads in the game and a Rock Valley victory.


The host Trojans’ only other lead was 5-4. They trailed 32-22 at halftime and 46-37 after three quarters.


Kyle Treptow made five of eight free throws and scored nine of his 14 points to lead Turner’s comeback in a 20-12 fourth quarter. Reggie Cassimere added six of his 17 during that stretch as the Trojans (8-11, 7-7) locked up fourth place by winning their conference finale.


Jacob Traeger added 12 points for Turner, and Trenton Klein had 12 to lead Brodhead (8-12, 4-10).

The Vikings led 15-11 after the first quarter and 28-21 at halftime.


Nick Melton and Alex Mumm paced Parkview’s balanced attack with 12 and 10 points, respectively, while Logan Krebs led the Cougars with 11.
