— After defeating Lake Forest at the buzzer on Friday, Beloit College couldn’t catch Illinois College in Midwest Conference men’s basketball Saturday.

The Buccaneers (4-16, 2-11) trailed 37-29 at the half. Illinois College sank 24 baskets, including nine three-point goals.


Beloit made 18 baskets and five three-pointers.


Beloit’s Derek Lovgren and Patrick Kenny scored 12 points apiece, while Orfordville Parkview graduate Andy Horton scored 11. Janesville Parker graduate Cody Bysted scored three points.


Brad Johnson scored 22 points for Illinois College (9-11, 5-8).
