East Troy High School’s boys basketball has measured up to at least portion of the preseason projections in the Southern Lakes Conference.

The heavily favored Trojan clinched a tie for their second straight championship with a 60-50 victory Thursday night at Milton.

East Troy, No. 7 in the AP Division 2 state ratings, improved to 15-2 for the season and maintained a two-game lead over second-second place Elkhorn in the loss column with a 9-1 conference record. With two league games to go, the Trojans can clinch the outright title by beating Fort Atkinson at home next Friday or winning Feb. 14 at Whitewater.

Jory Tess (13 points), Alex Bondar (13), Tom Manschot (13) and Kyle Jones (10) reached double figures as East Troy beat Milton (8-9, 4-5) for the second time this season.

Manschot gave the Trojans a boost by scoring first five points of the second half and finishing with eight for the third quarter as East Troy extended a 24-22 halftime lead to 42-38. The Trojans then pulled away down the stretch.

Mason Walters led Milton with 14 points.
