Officers arrest two men on felony drug charges

JANESVILLE — An undercover police investigation led to the arrest of two Janesville men Sunday night on drug-dealing charges.

Janesville police had warrants to search two homes, 217 N. Marion Ave. and 721 Glen St., between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday night after an investigation into marijuana dealing, according to a Janesville Police Department news release and arrests reports.

At the Marion Avenue home, officers found marijuana and a gun, according to the news release.

Fernando Garcia, 20, who lives at the home, arrived while police were there, according to the news release.

Garcia was arrested on drug-related charges and held in the Rock County Jail, according to the news release.

Michael L. Fischer, 21, of 2226 Bond Place, Janesville, also was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana and later released.

Two women also were in the home, but they later were released without charges, according to the news release.

At the Glen Street home, officers found marijuana and money, according to the news release.

Peter G. Mavraganis, 25, who lives at the home, was arrested on drug charges and held at the Rock County Jail.

Two men and a woman were inside the home, but they later were released without charges, according to the news release.

Garcia was arrested on charges of:

-- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

-- Three counts of delivery of marijuana.

-- Three counts of running a drug house.

-- Possession of drug paraphernalia.

Mavraganis was arrested on charges of:

-- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

-- Two counts of delivery of marijuana.

-- Three counts of maintaining a drug house.

-- Manufacturing marijuana.

-- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
