Christmas Eve is the last day of donations into the Salvations Army's red kettles.
Janesville Salvation Army Captain Kirk Schuetz says the campaign is still about $45,000 short of goal, but that's not as bad as he had feared. Schuetz was expecting a slower year than last year due to the economy, and 2008 donations are on track with last year.
The kettles will be out until 2pm Wednesday, but the Salvation Army is accepting donations for the campaign until January 15th.
