Alliant Energy reports thousands of dollars in customer donations to its Hometown Care Energy Fund.

Spokesman Steve Schultz says although the donations are down from last year, Wisconsin Power & Light customers still made a significant contribution from January through November 2008. In total, Wisconsin customers have donated $32,000 to the fund. He says Rock County consumers have donated $3,600, added to about $79,500 from Alliant Energy donations.

Although there is a winter moratorium on power disconnection, Schultz says the fund helps customers who get behind in their bills.
