Accidents
-- CEMETERY ROAD AND TERRITORIAL ROAD, Robert W. Tierney, 38, of 125 1/2 E. Main St., Evansville, was driving south on Cemetery Road at noon Tuesday in Union Township when he lost control of his vehicle on snow and ice and slid into a ditch on the west side of the road. The vehicle came to rest on its side.
-- HIGHWAY 11 AND ROHERTY ROAD, Chelsea L. Vogel, 18, of Monroe was driving west on Highway 11 when she lost control of her vehicle in snowy conditions and slid into the eastbound lane. She struck a vehicle driven by David A. Scofield, 19, of 502 1st Center Ave., Brodhead, at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Center Township. Vogel was cited for driving too fast for conditions and not wearing a seat belt.
-- COUNTYLINE ROAD AND RYE ROAD, Maryann Markling, 51, of 12216 E. County A, Avalon, was driving south on Countyline Road when she lost control of her vehicle in snowy conditions at 1:42 p.m. Thursday in Johnstown Township. Her car rolled and landed in the ditch on the west side of the road. Markling was cited for driving without a seat belt.
Intoxicated driving arrests
-- RYAN L. CLARK, 22, OF 10406 Highway 140, Clinton, at 7:50 p.m. Nov. 26 on Bergen Road north of Stateline Road in Clinton Township. Clark was cited for causing injury by operating while intoxicated.
-- JOHN P. WAWROSKI, 45, of 418 Harding St., Janesville, at 12:28 p.m. Thursday at Highway 14 and River Road in Janesville Township. The arrest was listed as Wawroski’s third on a drunken-driving charge.
-- WAYNE P. PALZKILL, 40, of 9255 Arrowhead Shores Road, Edgerton, at 9:01 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of County M and Highway 51 in Fulton Township.
-- DIANE E. DAVIS, 42, of Rockford, Ill., at 12:11 a.m. Friday at the intersection of County J and Avalon Road in La Prairie Township.
-- JASON L. KRIIGEL, 26, of 11106 E. County MM, Avalon, at 4:40 a.m. Saturday at Countyline Road and County A in Johnstown Township. The arrest was listed as Kriigel’s second on a drunken-driving charge.
-- JUSTIN G. FLUGER, 28, of McHenry, Ill., at 9:44 p.m. Sunday on County B west of Mineral Point Road in Magnolia Township.
Fire
-- KITCHEN STOVE TOP FIRE at 1:54 p.m. Sunday at 429 Augusta St., Janesville. Damage—structural and contents—was listed at $7,500 for this rented upstairs duplex. One tenant—a minor—was transported to Mercy Hospital for smoke inhalation.
