— Police are investigating as possible arson a fire that did about $200,000 damage to a business on the city’s south side early Saturday.

Firefighters found flames and smoke shooting into the sky when they responded at 3:02 a.m. Saturday to Tigre USA, 2315 Beloit Ave., the Janesville Fire Department reported.

No one was injured, but damage was extensive to PVC pipe stacked on pallets in a 30- by 50-foot area outside the business.

Tigre USA makes PVC pipe, fire personnel said.

Also damaged was a transformer.

The fire stayed outside the building, fire personnel said.

The cause is listed as undetermined, but no heat source was found near the fire, prompting the investigation.
