Autopsy performed on murder-suicide victims
Janesville police plan further review of the preliminary results of the autopsies performed on the victims of Saturday morning’s apparent murder-suicide.
The autopsies were performed Sunday and indicate 38-year-old Shukrije Menxhiqi was shot four times in the chest, and 54-year-old Rexhep Menxhiqi died from a single self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. During a Saturday afternoon news conference Janesville Police Lieutenant Tim Hiers said a motive wasn’t yet apparent. Four of the couples five children were home at the time of the shooting.
Neighbors say the family was friendly and appeared happy. Authorities say drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be a factor, but toxicology results from the autopsy are still pending.
