— A man and a woman apparently were shot to death at 12 N. Washington St. in Janesville sometime Saturday morning.

Police were called to the home just north of West Court Street in Janesville at 9:05 a.m. Saturday.

At 12:36 p.m., Janesville police released the following:

“Officers were called to 12 N. Washington (St.) for two adult victims suffering major trauma. The adult victims were a female in her 30s and a male in his 50s. No other persons living at the residence were injured.

“Both victims were pronounced deceased by emergency medical responders. The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and additional information will be released pending family notifications.”

Earlier an officer with the department told The Janesville Gazette that police had responded to a report of a shooting with two victims.

Janesville Fire Department ambulances were called to the scene, but emergency medical technicians were told they were not needed.

Rock Count Coroner Jenifer Keach was at the scene.

The Associated Bank at 2720 N. Lexington Drive plans to set up an account today for the family. People can donate by bringing money to that location. More details weren’t immediately available.

As the report here states, the family lived here with the extended family living in their native country of Albania. But, we have all been wrong before and, no doubt, we will always be wrong about something in the future.

That explains why I just passed the police and a Rock County Emergency vehicle up at the end of my street. My condolences to the family of the victims who will need all the help and support they can get.

Some of the family live here in Janesville. I thought the rest of family is from Albania?

This doesn't take away the grief for the children!

Forgive me if I am wrong, but the article that released the names states that the extended family is in Albania.

Last time I checked, which was just a few minutes ago, Albania and Romania were not related, only that they are both in the same area as Greece and the Ukraine, etc.

And besides, it doesn't matter where the family lives. The p & p is to locate and notify the next of kin. It is only a matter of courtesy, etc.
