Street construction on Purvis Avenue from North Washington Street to North Oakhill Avenue will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2, and run through Friday, Sept. 19. The reconstruction will include removal of existing asphalt pavement and underlying sand and gravel base and replacement with new limestone base and new asphalt pavement.

During reconstruction, Purvis Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Oakhill Avenue and Washington Street. Also, the West Court Street bus route is expected to proceed north on Oakhill from Purvis to Myra then east on Myra to Washington and then south on Washington and back on the normal route.

Street resurfacing is expected to begin on these streets Wednesday, Sept. 3, and run through Wednesday, Sept. 17:

-- Mount Zion Avenue—Milton Ave. to Sumac Drive.

-- Barham Avenue—North Washington Street to Oakhill Avenue.

-- Grant Avenue—Ravine Street to Mineral Point Avenue.

-- Beloit Avenue—Tyler Street to Delavan Drive.

-- East State Street—Beloit Avenue to Pliny Avenue.

-- Bouchard and Bingham Avenues—250 feet north of State Street to 500 feet south of State Street.

During reconstruction, streets will be open to traffic and driveway access will be open. However, curbside parking will not be allowed, and delays should be expected.
