Beloit police are investigating a shoot-out between two groups of individuals Wednesday afternoon on the city's near west side.

Police Captain Bill Tyler says the incident happened about 3:45 in the 700 block of Vernon Avenue. Tyler says responding officers found both homes and vehicles were stuck by gunfire. Suspects were taken into custody following a one hour stand-off in a nearby neighborhood. Nobody was reported injured.

More information is expected to be released Thursday.
