Arrests

-- GARY VILLEGAS, 20, of 232 Pearson Drive, Lake Geneva, on Wednesday at his home on charges of graffiti, theft and trespassing. Villegas, a known associate of the Latin Kings gang, admitted to police that he spray painted gang graffiti on several vehicles, a structure and roadway and that he stole a large concrete statue.


-- RASY O. NOHL, 19, of 279 Rockport Road, Janesville, on a charge of substantial battery Sunday at the Janesville Police Department in connection with a fight Aug. 3 outside a Janesville bar in which a 26-year-old Milton woman suffered a broken nose.


-- TWO 15-YEAR-OLD JANESVILLE BOYS referred to juvenile authorities Monday on charges of negligent handling of burning materials in connection with a small fire at Lincoln Elementary School, 1821 Conde St., Janesville.


-- STEPHANIE M. MCINTYRE, 37, of 182 S. Chatham St., Janesville, on charges of forgery and theft at 2:15 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Center Avenue in Janesville.


Intoxicated driving arrests

-- RIGOBERTO PEREZ-HERNANDEZ, 35, 251 Elmwood Ave., Unit B, Lake Geneva, on Wednesday at his home after a hit-and-run crash in the 500 block of Jefferson Street, Lake Geneva. It was reported as his second arrest on a drunken-driving charge. He also was cited for hit and run and operating without a valid driver’s license.


-- KENNETH L. HOVLAND, 68, of 250 Havenwood Drive, No. 203, Lake Geneva, on Friday on Highway 50 east of Curtis Street, Lake Geneva. It was reported as his second arrest on a drunken-driving charge. He also was cited for operating after revocation.


-- BENJAMIN BRUNO, 24, Kenosha, on Sunday at Main and Broad Streets, Lake Geneva.


-- TIMOTHY PUNZEL, 34, of 209½ Second St., Edgerton, at 7:06 p.m. Wednesday at County N and North Searns Road, Milton Township. It is listed as his fourth arrest on drunken-driving charges.


-- VONDA M. VOGEL, 3315 Highway 51, No. 75, Janesville at 11:34 p.m. Thursday at Highway 51 and Burbank Avenue, Rock Township.


-- BLAKE E. VANFOSSEN, 25, of 6808 N. County M, Evansville, at 2:53 a.m. Friday on County M west of County F in Fulton Township. Also ticketed for driving on a suspended license.


-- KERRY J. ASHWORTH-KING, 32, of 1752 Gateway Blvd., No. 307, Beloit, at 4 a.m. Thursday on County X west of Rock-Walworth County Line Road in Clinton Township.

-- THEFT from Hillmoor Golf Course on Highway 50 in Lake Geneva reported Aug. 18. A vending machine was damaged and alcohol was reported stolen.


-- DAMAGE to Hillmoor Golf Course on Highway 50 in Lake Geneva reported Friday. A 16-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl were referred to juvenile authorities on charges of trespassing and criminal damage to property. The juveniles are accused of damaging three vehicles and a storage building and “joy riding” on golf carts.


- RECOVERY  on Sunday morning in Beloit of a GMC Jimmy, value not reported, reported stolen by a 31-year-old Janesville man.


-- BURGLARY to a home on West Avon North Town Line in Avon Township reported Monday. Reported taken was a .22-caliber rifle valued at $150.


Accidents

-- EAST MILWAUKEE AND NORTH MAIN STREETS, Janesville, at 9:06 p.m. Sunday. A car driven by Jared J. Desane, 30, of New Port Ritchley, Fla. was westbound in the northernmost lane of East Milwaukee Street when he turned across two lanes and collided with a car driven by Beatriz Velasco-Arelland, 29, of 2629 N. Pontiac Drive, No. 6. Velasco-Arelland was treated and released from Mercy Hospital. Desane was arrested at 9:20 p.m. the same night at 2707 Park Place Lane, No. 42, on a charge of operating while intoxicated. It was listed as his second arrest on drunken-driving charges.


-- NORTH CHARLEY BLUFF ROAD AND EAST THOMAS STREET, Milton Township at 5:17 p.m. Aug. 19. A car driven by Tony R. Hoff, 20 Menhall Drive, Edgerton, was northbound on Charley Bluff when he reached for a ringing cell phone and ran into a tree. He was reported transported to Stoughton Hospital and later transported to another facility. He was ticketed for hit and run and operating after suspension.


-- HIGHWAY 26 AND EAST EAGLE DRIVE, Milton, at 11:45 a.m., Aug. 19. A car driven by David L. Nactigall, 42, of Watertown was southbound on Highway 26 when he collided with a car driven by Einer E. Scheuerman, 84, 2N7940 Hill Drive, Whitewater. Scheuerman had slowed down for construction workers. Scheuerman and his passenger, Mildred Scheuerman, 87, also of 2N7940 Hill Drive, were reported transported to Fort Memorial Hospital, Fort Atkinson.


Fire

-- REAR EXTERIOR OF A TWO-STORY WOOD-FRAME HOUSE WITH TWO APARTMENTS at 10:40 p.m. Monday at 507 Monroe St., Janesville. Careless use of smoking materials resulted in this fire that left $12,000 damage. The apartment did not have a functioning smoke detector. Tenants, who live in both apartments—507 and 509 Monroe St.—were not hurt but displaced due to water damage. Nobody was hurt, according to a Janesville Fire Department spokesman.
