Janesville city crews will begin clean-up Tuesday of one of the real trouble spots from the flood early this summer.

City Parks Director Tom Presny says it could take two weeks just to clear debris from the Monterey Dam. He says the area became a real collection spot for trees and other debris and crews will be using chain saws to clear the clutter. After the area is cleared, Presny says engineers will be able to evaluate how much soil erosion occurred, and how it should be remedied. The concrete structure of the dam has already been inspected and deemed functional.

The area has been closed to fisherman and may not reopen this season.
