— Janesville city officials and a representative from FEMA are inspecting damage to the city's storm sewer infrastructure this week.

City Engineer, Jack Messer, says if they can prove that the flooding caused the damage, resulting in several sink holes in the downtown area, the federal government will reimburse the city for most of the repair costs.

Messer says it appears the high water weakened some of the storm sewer joints, which in turn allowed soil to wash away, causing the sink holes.
