— Forward Janesville's Dan Cunningham says seven area school districts have signed on to an effort to enhance technical training in high school, and at least two more districts are being courted.

Cunningham says the Stateline Career Technical Education Academy would give students certification in several technical areas at graduation from high school.

He says the late Ken Hendricks brought the idea to Rock County, and it's being embraced by both the business community and school districts.

Cunningham says the goal is to have the program ready for the start of the 2009-2010 school year.
