Red Cross blood donors needed

WCLO's Steve Benton reports there's a summer slump in Red Cross blood donors

ROCK COUNTY — The Red Cross says daily blood supplies are running extremely low and they need donors.

Donor Recruitment Representative, Tammy Newberry, says it's summer time, and for many reasons the number of donors at local Red Cross blood drives are down.

Newberry says all types of blood are needed, but they would really like donors with O or O-negative blood types. They want to collect at least 60 pints.

In an effort to entice donors to come out and give blood, they're raffling off some gas gift cards and are handing out t-shirts.

The drive will be held next Wednesday, August 27th from 1pm to 6pm at the UAW local 95 hall.
