Attempted armed robbery reported in Janesville

JANESVILLE — Janesville police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to rob the Stop-n-Go store at 714 Center Avenue early Wednesday morning.

The female clerk told police a man, with a nylon stocking over his head, came into the store around 2:20 and demanded cash. The clerk told police she ran outside yelling for help and the suspect fled the scene empty handed.

The suspect is described as 5'5", and wearing blue jeans and a maroon sweatshirt.
