WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on Wisconsin's Presidential race importance

RSS

Wisconsin may play an important role in this fall's presidential election.

Former Wisconsin Governor and Bush Administration Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson tells WCLO's Stan Milam Show the state will see a lot of presidential campaigning. He predicts whoever wins Wisconsin will win the White House. Thompson is campaigning for fellow Republican John McCain, but the former governor is concerned about the partisan nature of government he calls the "politics of destruction". He says the parties try to tear each other down, rather than build anything up. As for Thompson, he isn't ruling out running for higher office again. He does say he's keeping busy on the speaking circuit, sitting on several boards, and also acting as a partner in an international law firm.

Thompson still calls Wisconsin home, saying he maintains a residence here, and he visits every weekend.
