— The man accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend in Beloit on Saturday was arrested by Janesville police after a bar fight less than two hours earlier.

Donyil L. Anderson, 35, of Beloit was arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday on charges of misdemeanor battery and after he allegedly punched the bouncer at Quotes, 24 S. Main St., Janesville. He was released with a court date.

Police said the incidents are not directly related.

"They’re totally different," said Lt. Tim Hiers of the Janesville Police Department. "There are no parallels that we’ve drawn."

Anderson is suspected of stabbing his ex-girlfriend Stacy M. Hosey, 31, and her current boyfriend Branden D. Beavers-Jackson, 23, both of Beloit, multiple times at a home in the 2300 block of Pioneer Drive, Beloit.

The incident was reported about 3:40 a.m. Saturday.

Hosey was flown to University Hospital in Madison, where she died from her injuries.

Beavers-Jackson was taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He had been released as of Tuesday morning.

Anderson was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill., with self-inflicted injuries. He was in fair condition under police guard as of Tuesday morning.

Anderson faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

Hosey has two children, a 14-month-old with Anderson and an older one with a previous husband. She worked at Mercy Clinic East, 3524 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville, for three years as a registered nurse.
