The City of Janesville and Forward Janesville are working to put economic development ideas from a brainstorming session to work.

Dan Cunningham, Forward Janesville's Vice President of Government Relations, says the session in June generated 400 ideas to improve the business climate in the city. The ideas are collated into eleven categories: community, downtown, economic development, education, energy, environment, government, labor & workforce, regionalism, tourism and transportation. The steering committee voted on the top ideas for each category. The city council will later use the data to form the city's new long-range economic development strategy.
