Parker's O'Leary commits to Loyola

JANESVILLE — JANESVILLE—Catie O’Leary is about to become a Rambler.

O’Leary, who will be a senior at Janesville Parker, verbally committed Wednesday to play basketball for Loyola University of Chicago. The Ramblers play in the Horizon League, an NCAA Division I conference that also includes UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay.

Under NCAA rules, O’Leary can't sign an official letter of intent until November.

The 5-foot-11 O’Leary was a first-team Associated Press all-state selection last season and was the Big Eight Conference Player of the Year the last two seasons. As a junior, she averaged 18.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists for a Parker team that share the Big Eight championship with Middleton and lost in a WIAA Division 1 sectional final to Verona.
