— The Beloit Snappers didn’t do much right Wednesday night in a Midwest League baseball game against Kane County.

Beloit managed four hits and committed three costly errors en route to an 8-1 loss to the Cougars.

The Snappers, who fell to 22-23 for the second half of the season, led 1-0 in the top of the fourth, thanks to a Yangervis Solarte sacrifice fly. The Cougars then erupted for seven run in the bottom of the inning.

Three Kane County pitchers shut down Beloit, including starter Christian Hernandez, who improved to 3-0 with five solid innings.

Shooter Hunt (0-2) suffered the loss after lasting only 3 1/3 innings. Hunt allowed six runs and walked five.

The two teams conclude the three-game series today.
