— The Beloit Snappers got back into the win column Tuesday night.

Ramon Santana homered, and Henry Reyes threw six solid innings to lead the Snappers to a 5-1 win over the Kane County Cougars in Midwest League baseball.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak.

Beloit led 2-1 in the ninth before Santana connected for a two-run homer—his sixth of the season—off of Chad Kerfoot to push the lead to 4-1. The Snappers added an insurance run later in the inning on a Kane County error.

Reyes allowed one run and struck out four in improving to 2-0 on the season. Santos Arias pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his first save of the season.

The two teams play Game 2 of the three-game series tonight.
