— Three Edgerton residents led police on a chase at more than 80 mph before fleeing on foot in a cornfield on Saturday night, Town of Fulton Police officer Dan Donstad said.

The chase started on County F at 6:30 p.m., when Donstad attempted to stop the vehicle for reckless driving. The 2.6 mile chase ended at 5409 Pomeroy Road, where the vehicle took off on a farmer’s path in the cornfield, Donstad said. The vehicle drove about a half-mile into the cornfield before the occupants took off on foot.

With the help of Edgerton and Rock County Sheriff’s officers, the three suspects were taken into custody nearly two hours later, Donstad said.
