Beloit's City Council is expected to refer a design for a new transit transfer center Monday to the city's Plan Commission.
Assistant City Manager Steve Gregg says the current Mill Street that runs near the post office and city hall will eventually be rerouted. He says the new transit center on Shirland Avenue will be a key part of that redevelopment.
Another key aspect of the design is its sustainability. The location is close to both a bike path and downtown businesses, which Gregg says should facilitate people biking and then taking the bus.
