Roadwork to close Highway 14
JANESVILLE — Starting Monday, Highway 14 from County O in La Prairie Township to Highway 89 in Walworth County’s Darien Township will be closed to through traffic.
Access to driveways and local businesses will be open.
Detours include:
-- Interstate 90/39 to Interstate 43 for eastbound travelers on I-90/39.
-- Highway 14 to I-43 for westbound travelers on Highway 11.
-- I-43 for westbound travelers on Highway 14.
Crews will grind down the surface of the 10.5-mile stretch and coat it with fresh pavement.
The project cost is estimated at $2.5 million.
The project should be completed in October.

Normally crossings are maintained except when actively under construction. This is a long stretch to be worked on and any given segment may have a different status from day to day so the key will be paying attention to the conditions where you need to be going, if you can't avoid the area entirely.

I've already selected two alternate routes, myself, using Google Maps, which lets you look at photographs of the intersections so you can familiarize yourself before you drive it. (Unfortunately Google's satellite imagery of our area still sucks, but you can get better aerial shots through MSN Live Maps and Flash Earth.)

I would guess since they are only grinding the pavement, and local access is open that you should be able to cross 14 at every cross road.
