— Led by unbeaten Rob Watson at No. 1 singles, Milton High’s boys tennis team won Saturday’s Craig Quadrangular.

Milton finished 3-0 in the four-team quad, while the host Cougars were 2-1. Janesville Parker was 1-2 and Westosha Central was 0-3.

Watson lost only one game in three matches to lead the Red Hawks to the title.

Craig’s No. 2 doubles team of seniors David Jacowski and Brian Stevens went 3-0.

“They’re a new team that is really starting to play well together,” Craig coach Gary Hallowell said of Jacowski and Stevens. “David’s got great ground strokes and Brian is a dominator at the net.

“We were a little shorthanded as a team, so I had to move some kids around. And Jace (Fenton) hurt his knee against Parker and had to quit. I hope he’s not out too long.”

Parker also had an unbeaten doubles team as sophomore Nick Gilbank and junior Jason Knutson went 3-0 at No. 1. Senior Travis Wood also finished 3-0 for the Vikings at No. 3 singles.

“Travis played really calm and collected,” Parker coach Mike Fuhrmann said. “That’s the Travis Wood we’ve been looking for.

“And Nick and Jason are really starting to take off as a doubles team. They’re 4-1 on the season and really played well today, as did our whole team, I thought.”

Parker hosts Madison La Follette on Tuesday. Craig is at Madison Memorial.
