— Letters continue to fly between the Beloit Town Board and the Rock County Public Works Department about a proposal to extend Inman Parkway.

At its workshop meeting Monday, the town board directed Administrator Bob Museus to draft a letter telling Rock County Public Works Director Ben Coopman the town is not happy with the direction the project is taking. The board could approve the letter Monday at its regular meeting.

Federal tax dollars have been earmarked to design an extension of Inman from Prairie Avenue east to Shopiere Road in Turtle Township. The road would make Beloit Township more accessible for traffic from Interstate 90/39.

Thatís a good thing, town officials have said.

But the town does not want traffic to increase on Inman in front of the Turner middle/high school and through the nearby residential neighborhood.

The town has asked Coopman to conduct a traffic study on Inman between Prairie Avenue and Riverside Drive and consider extending a different road.
