JATV honored at state level

— JATV 12 has received 10 awards for videos produced in 2007, four of which were Awards of Excellence, the highest recognition.

JATV 12 is Janesville’s public access cable television station. The awards will be presented at the 10th Annual Wisconsin Association of Public Access Channel’s Video Festival Awards banquet Friday, May 2, in Appleton.


The station entered 10 programs in seven categories, and all received recognition. A total of 391 new programs were produced last year by staff, volunteer producers, organizations and faith communities.


The Award of Excellence, will be presented to:


-- Duane Brewer for “JATV 12 10th Anniversary Promo,” public service announcement (PSA) category.


-- Dave Haldiman for “Video Competition Legislation,” PSA category.


-- Dave Haldiman for “In the Full Current of Life—The People of KANDU Industries,” documentary category.


-- Mike Rogers and Duane Brewer for “Butterflies in the Backyard,” seniors category.


Award of Achievement winners were:


-- Don Allison, “Chased by a Rainbow,” sports category.


-- Mike Rogers and Duane Brewer, “Trail Building Event,” PSA category.


-- Mike Rogers and Duane Brewer, “Butterflies in the Backyard,” video art category.


Award of Merit winners were:


-- Duane Brewer, “Badger Chordhawks Chorus Promo,” PSA category


-- Paulette Davis, “History’s Ms. Stories—Interview with Rhoda Lavinia Goodell,” talk show category.


-- Bret Norling, “To the Republic,” local events category.
