Salvation Army Auxiliary plans annual flower sale

— The Janesville Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will hold two flower sales this year.

The new cash and carry sale will be from 10 a.m. until all flowers are sold out Friday, May 9, in the BIG LOTS parking lot, corner of Milton Avenue and Black Bridge Road. Rain date is Saturday, May 10.


Hanging baskets will cost $20, and 7 1/2-inch, foil-wrapped potted geraniums are $10.25.


The auxiliary also will conduct its annual pre-order sale. Flowers that can be ordered by Thursday, May 1, include:


-- Potted geraniums—4 1/2-inch pots, $3.75; 7 1/2-inch pots, $10.25.


-- 10-inch hanging baskets of Ivy geraniums, wax begonias or petunias—$20 each.


-- Miscellaneous 4 1/2-inch pots of nonstop begonias and New Guinea impatiens—$3.50 each; wave petunias and other flower varieties—$3 each.


-- Flats of flowers—full (48 plants), $16; half full (24 plants) of impatiens, petunias, wax begonias, snapdragons, zinnias and others, $8.


For the pre-order sale, make checks payable to Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary and mail to: P.O. Box 898, Janesville, WI 53547-0898.


Pickup for the pre-ordered flowers will be from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 15, at Fairview Mall’s greenhouse, 2100 E. Milwaukee St., Janesville.
