Janesville Parker used a hit, passed ball and error to push ahead the go-ahead run and defeated Beloit Memorial, 2-1, in nine innings in Big Eight Conference softball Wednesday afternoon.

The Vikings (3-3 overall, 2-2 in the Big Eight) rode the four-hit pitching of Kelley Koebler.

“She has just been on the last two games,” said Parker coach Dyann Riley. “She’s mixing her speeds and keeping hitters off-balance.”

Amanda Benash started Parker’s winning rally in the ninth with a single. After a passed ball put Benash on second, she scored when Lindsay Kluge’s grounder was thrown past first.

Parker trailed, 1-0, in the fourth when Emily Lilburn singled. Carol Anne Maveety followed with a single and Alex Klawitter scored Lilburn with a sacrifice fly.

Klawitter also ran down a couple of fly balls in the outfield, and Maveety also made a sliding catch.

The Vikings play Madison West at home Tuesday.
