Elkhorn tops Parker baseball
The Vikings (1-2) stumbled out of the gate for the second straight game, falling behind 6-0 to Elkhorn en route to a 17-11 nonconference defeat here in the Metrodome on Saturday night.
“We came out not ready to play for the second straight game,” Parker coach Brian Martin said. “I must do a better job as a coach preparing our team to play.”
The Vikings committed three errors which helped pave the way to nine unearned runs for the Elks.
Parker starting pitcher Tyler Teubert allowed 12 runs—four earned—on seven hits and three walks. B.J. Scharenbroch allowed seven hits and five runs—three earned—though four innings of relief.
Scharenbroch went 3-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Parker’s 12-hit attack. The Elks’ Evan Bierman hit a home run.
Parker is scheduled to play Janesville Craig at 5 p.m. today at Riverside Park.
