JANESVILLE — The shell of a GMC Suburban was pulled from the Traxler Park lagoon Thursday to determine winners of The Janesville Kiwanis Blackhawk Golden K Club’s annual Truck on Ice fund-raiser.

Raffle ticket buyers were challenged to guess when the clock locked inside the vehicle would stop when it sank through the ice.

Adrian Hoffland, Soldiers Grove, was the $3,000 grand prizewinner.

The truck sank at 12:06 p.m. March 20. Hoffland guessed the truck would sink four minutes earlier that day.

The four second-prize winners of $250 were: Sandy Jacobson, Len Griffith, Luke Karrels, all of Janesville, and Jack Mitchell of Phoenix, Ariz.

The 10 third-prize winners of $100 were: Jared Marchant, Franklin; Jason Schaitel, Fort Atkinson; David Cress, Earaina Horsey, Bonita Kingsley, Ed Timmer, John Codman, all of Janesville; Kelly Jo Falk, Beloit; Nikki Ullrich, Madison; and Matt Carlsen, Stronghurst, Ill.

The amount raised by the event his year hasn’t yet been totaled, but the event brought in more than $45,000 in the previous four years, benefiting the First Year Parent letters, the Janesville school breakfast clubs, scouting organizations and the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville.
