— Nine sheriff’s deputies and detectives Thursday worked with agencies throughout Rock County as well as agencies nationwide to arrest people with outstanding family violence warrants.

The enforcement emphasis was part of the fifth annual nationwide Family Violence Apprehension Detail.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Department officers went to pre-designated areas to try to arrest more than 100 known offenders for offenses ranging from failure to pay child support to sexual assault and domestic violence.

The 12-hour effort resulted in 16 warrant arrests and 83 attempts.

Many other agencies—including local police departments, the Rock County Child Support Agency and the district attorney’s office—helped the sheriff’s department, according to a departmental press release.
