— Janesville police will host a ceremony at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to introduce the department’s new police dog, Hardy, and his handler, officer Shaun Mahaffey, to the community.

The event at the entry plaza at the Janesville Police Services Building, 100 N. Jackson St., will include a short demonstration of a few of Hardy’s skills.

Mahaffey is the department’s first K-9 handler.

This k-9 cop should be placed at the HWY 25/HWY14 intersection to ticket people running red lights, because the human cops are doing absolutely nothing about it. I'll even kick in a box of milk-bones for the pooch.
