UW-Whitewater women remain unbeaten

— CHICAGO

UW-Whitewater continued its winning ways, posting a 62-53 victory over the University of Chicago in nonconference women’s basketball Wednesday.


Dana Thompson sank a layup that sparked Whitewater (4-0) to a 13-point lead with 1:24 remaining in the first half. The Warhawks led 33-22 at halftime.


Whitewater’s Kelsey Hendrickson scored a game-high 15 points. Megan Schmidt added 12 points for the Warhawks.


Whitewater hosts UW-Stevens Point in a WIAC opener at 3 p.m. Saturday.
