— The Milton School Board approved Monday hiring a consulting firm to help it find a new superintendent.

The board agreed to pay Fox River Consultants $5,700 plus up to $1,200 in expenses to help with the search.

Fox River will post the job opening, develop an application, create a job profile, present candidates to the board and facilitate interviews in the superintendent search. It also will facilitate site visits and contract negotiations on request.

In October, Superintendent Peg Ekedahl announced her intention to retire at the end of the school year.

The board hopes to find a new superintendent by April, Ekedahl said. It will meet with the consulting firm Thursday.
