— Burglars hit an electronics jackpot when they targeted the vacant rural home of a family apparently fond of high-performance entertainment systems.

Reported stolen were a home theater system—TV and surround-sound stereo—valued at $50,000 and hard-wired into the basement, two large-screen plasma TVs with a combined value of $6,000 and four smaller plasma TVs valued at $4,000 total.

A washer and dryer, total value $1,600, also were reported taken, Rock County sheriff’s deputies reported.

The house on East Minkey Road was vacant because it is for sale, and a door was left open to allow the real estate agent access, deputies reported. The burglary occurred sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 11, when it was reported.
