A light parade kicked off the holiday season as part of the 2007 Sugar, Spice and Ice Fest in downtown Janesville on Saturday evening.

Janesville Leisure Services, in collaboration with the Downtown Development Alliance, hosted the event. Several downtown facilities were used during the event, including the Ice Skating Center and the Senior Center.

The parade began at the intersection of High and Wall streets, proceeded south on High Street, east on Milwaukee Street and south on Main Street, ending at the Senior Center parking lot.

Following the parade, children visited with Santa and took part in holiday-themed activities.

In addition to the parade, the event also featured a craft fair, kids entertainment, an ice skating show, and carriage and wagon rides through the downtown area.
