Wisconsin skaters fall to Michigan

— The University of Wisconsin suffered a 3-2 nonconference loss to Michigan in the College Hockey Showcase on Friday night at Yost Arena.

The No. 2 Wolverines improved to 12-1 overall after posting their 11th straight victory. The Badgers fall to 5-6-0 overall.

The Badgers trailed 3-0 before Brendan Smith and Ben Street each scored late in the third period.

Goaltender Shane Connelly stopped 31 shots for the Badgers, while Wisconsin fired 26 shots at Michigan’s net.
