— The city will lose one business but gain another if a sale goes through as planned in the city’s west-side industrial park.

Racecar driver Rich Bickle, an Edgerton native, had announced plans this summer to build an auto fabrication business at 10 Gear Drive. Instead, he bought an existing shop in Janesville this month, he said.

Bickle plans to sell the Edgerton lot to Rock River Concrete, he said. The company plans to build an office and storage space there, said City Administrator Ramona Flanigan.

Earlier this month, the Edgerton City Council waived its right to buy back the property, as long as Bickle doesn’t make a profit by selling it to Rock River Concrete.

Bickle took over Precision Crafted USA, 4100 N. Newville Road, Janesville, last week, he said. He changed the name to Muscle Up Performance and Rod Shop.
