Kenyaina Smith was a one-man wrecking crew for the UW-Barron men’s basketball team Saturday afternoon.

Smith erupted for 43 points to lead UW-Barron past UW-Rock County, 105-88, in a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference game.

The Rattlers (0-3), thanks to four players in double figures, kept it close for most of the game but could not contain Smith.

“We didn’t have anybody to match up with him athletically,” UW-Rock County coach Scott Lee said of Smith. “He’s a nice player, but we needed to rebound better and play more aggressively.

“Right now, we’re not shooting the ball very well. We need to do a better job of maximizing our opportunities.”

The Rattlers hit only 8-of-48 three-point shots and missed 12 free throws. Janesville Craig graduate David Rasmussen led UW-Rock County with 18 points and Janesville Parker graduate Matt Hilt added 15.
