— A look at the proposed 2008 budget for Edgerton:

-- $12,500 as a matching grant for a skatepark in Central Park. The Edgerton Skate Park Committee, a group of skatepark supporters, proposed the grant to match funds it hopes to raise by spring.

-- A 16 percent—$43,000 increase—in library expenditures. The increase funds additional staff time and books because of increased attendance at the library since the 2006 addition was completed.

-- $20,000 for a City Hall facilities study.

What’s next?: A public hearing on the budget will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in City Hall, 12 Albion St. A vote will follow the hearing. The council will also discuss the budget at 7 p.m. Monday at its regular council meeting.
